We want every person in Guam to be able to use this website, including people who use assistive technology.
Our standard
The Alternate Public Defender designs this website to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the technical standard adopted for state, local, and territorial government websites under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act. We continue to test and improve the site so its information and features are available to people with disabilities.
What we have built in
- Text and background colors that meet AA contrast levels.
- A “Skip to content” link and a clear, consistent menu on every page.
- Full keyboard navigation with a visible focus outline.
- Descriptive text alternatives for meaningful images.
- Headings and landmarks that screen readers can navigate.
- Reduced motion for visitors who set that preference on their device.
